General Information
History
The Accounting and Tax Applications department is a distribution that provides training for the purpose of performing and reproducing accounting calculations in accordance with financial management and tax legislation. This department has developed especially after the industrial revolution in line with the needs that have emerged in the modern business world. Accounting applications have become important in order to regulate the economic structures of businesses and states and to initiate tax revenues. In Turkey, this department is located within vocational schools and universities and is generally offered as a two-year associate degree program.
Department Outcomes
The Accounting and Tax Applications program provides reporting, theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Graduates gain the ability to prepare financial statements, prepare tax returns and manage current financial processes. Its main sections are:
- Establishing and Managing Accounting Systems: Students will be able to populate accounting systems and accurately record and report financial transactions.
- Preparing Tax Returns: They gain the ability to determine their taxes and prepare returns in accordance with tax legislation.
- Analysis of Financial Statements: Financial statements are obtained in a readable manner, without using the data in interpretation and decision making.
- Tax Law and Legislation Information: They gain the authority to follow and implement tax laws and changes.
- Using Accounting Software: They develop their skills to use current accounting software effectively.
- Education Language / Type: The language of education of the program is Turkish. Students receive basic aviation management courses as well as business and professional practice training in Turkish.
- Infrastructure Opportunities: The Accounting and Tax Applications program is equipped with professional practice training that allows students to combine their theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Students have access to internship and practice opportunities to gain sectoral experience during the program. The program, which provides knowledge and skillsGe specific to the aviation sector, aims to train its graduates in accordance with sectoral requirements.

Double Major/Minor Programmes
Double Major Program: It gives students the opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree in another department of their interest in addition to their main department. In this program, students can complete courses from two different departments and earn a diploma in both fields..
Minor Program: It allows the student to take a certain number of courses in a field of interest other than his/her major. Students who complete the minor program are awarded an official certificate in this field; however, this does not mean a second undergraduate diploma.

Exchange Programmes
It offers students the opportunity to study at another university, either domestically or abroad, for a certain period of time. Thanks to these programs, students have the opportunity to learn about different cultures, develop their foreign language skills and gain international academic experience. The most common exchange programs include programs such as Erasmus+, Mevlana and Farabi.
